Maintenance Guidelines

After a burial in a lawn grave, they ensure that the grave is topped up as necessary while the ground settles. Typically, graves are turfed between October and March. Before turfing can begin, the ground must settle, which can take up to six months. Depending on the time of year, this process can vary: burials during spring or summer may require additional time. They usually refrain from turfing during the summer months, opting for September or October when conditions are more suitable.

To maintain the cemetery’s aesthetic and respectful atmosphere, they kindly ask that all memorial items be placed on the memorial foundation rather than on the grass. Please refrain from using breakable items, such as glass or earthenware, and ensure that all items left are safe and appropriate. If any unsuitable items are identified, they will contact you to request their removal within two weeks. Items that pose an immediate danger to staff or visitors may be removed without notice.

Floral Tribute Guidelines

To maintain the cemetery’s beauty, funeral wreaths and other floral tributes will be removed two weekends following a burial. Additionally, all Christmas wreaths and floral tributes will be cleared on or after the third Monday in January.
