Maintenance and Memorial Guidelines
After a burial in a lawn grave, they ensure that the grave is topped up as necessary as the ground settles. Typically, they will turf the graves between October and March to allow proper settling. This process may take up to six months, especially for burials that occur in the spring or summer months. During the summer, they generally avoid turfing and will resume this practice in the autumn when conditions are more suitable.
They kindly ask that all memorial items be placed on the memorial foundation rather than directly on the grass. Please refrain from using breakable materials such as glass or earthenware to maintain a safe environment for visitors. Should any items be deemed unsuitable or unsafe, they will contact you within two weeks for their removal. Immediate removal will occur for items posing a risk to staff or visitors.
Removal of Floral Tributes
Following a burial, they will respectfully remove funeral wreaths and floral tributes two weekends after the service to maintain the cemetery’s appearance. Additionally, Christmas wreaths and floral tributes will be cleared on or after the third Monday in January.
