Cemetery Maintenance and Memorials

At Fenton Cemetery, after a burial in a lawn grave, the grave is carefully maintained. The ground is allowed to settle for up to six months before being turfed, usually between October and March. They refrain from laying turf during the summer months to ensure optimal weather conditions for maintenance.

Garden graves may be available upon request, and all memorial items should be placed on the memorial foundation, not the grass. For safety reasons, theyadvise against using breakable materials like glass or earthenware. If any items pose a danger or make grounds maintenance difficult, they will contact families to have them removed within two weeks.

Removal of Floral Tributes

Following a burial, funeral wreaths and other tributes will be removed after two weekends. All Christmas wreaths and tributes are removed on or after the third Monday in January, maintaining a respectful and tidy environment for visitors.
