At C McGough & Sons, we understand how important it is to find the right place to say goodbye to a loved one. Carmountside Cemetery and Crematorium offers a serene and respectful environment, designed to provide comfort during this difficult time. Whether you are planning a burial or cremation, or attending a service, Carmountside’s facilities cater to your family’s wishes with care and dignity.

Live Streaming & Webcast Services

They know that not everyone can attend services in person. That’s why Carmountside offers a live streaming service, allowing up to 150 people to view the ceremony from the safety of their homes. This service also includes a 28-day “watch again” feature, so you can revisit the service if needed. For a lasting memory, DVD and Blu-Ray recordings are also available upon request.

Burial Options

Carmountside provides a wide range of burial options to suit different needs, including:

  • New Full Earth Graves, with availability expected until 2042.

  • Re-Open Graves, for those seeking to rest alongside family in an existing plot.
Graves for Cremation Ashes, in dedicated areas designed for this purpose.

They kindly remind mourners to practice good hygiene and social distancing when attending services, ensuring everyone’s safety.

Special Burial Areas

Carmountside is known for its peaceful, specialised burial areas, each thoughtfully created to honour the memory of loved ones:

  • Woodland Park offers an environmentally friendly burial option, perfect for those who want a natural resting place.

  • Sweet Dreams and Butterfly Gardens are beautiful spaces dedicated to children and babies. Families can choose private or shared graves and leave personal mementos in these touching memorial areas.

  • The Wendy Houses in the gardens are unique spaces where families leave tokens of remembrance, creating a lasting connection to those who have passed.

Memorial Gardens and Maintenance

At Carmountside, the gardens are well-maintained and feature a war memorial, wishing well, and many other features supported by donations. During the Christmas period, families can sponsor star lights in memory of their loved ones, bringing a special glow to the gardens.

After a burial, our team takes care to allow the ground to settle properly before laying turf. Lawn graves are usually turfed between October and March, ensuring the site is treated with the respect it deserves. They ask that all memorial items are placed on the foundation, not the grass, to keep the area safe and well-maintained.

Funeral wreaths and tributes are carefully removed two weekends after the burial, while Christmas wreaths are removed after the third Monday in January.
