Grave and Memorial Maintenance

After a burial, lawn graves will be topped up as the ground settles. Turfing typically takes place between October and March, after allowing 3-6 months for the ground to settle, depending on the burial time. Turfing is avoided during the summer and resumed in September or October when conditions are favorable.

Garden graves may also be available upon request, allowing for a 6ft by 2ft planting strip in front of the grave. With approval, kerb sets may also be installed.

All memorial items should be placed on the designated memorial foundation. Please avoid using fragile items like glass or earthenware, and ensure all items are safe and appropriate. They may request the removal of unsuitable items within two weeks. Any items causing immediate safety hazards or interfering with grounds maintenance will be removed promptly.

Floral tributes, including funeral wreaths, will be removed two weekends after a burial. Christmas wreaths and tributes are removed starting the third Monday of January.
