We provide ongoing support throughout the process of organising the funeral, including memorials, ashes guidance, bereavement resources, and help with donations.
- Can we hold a funeral outside a church or crematorium?
Yes. We arrange funerals in community venues, woodland burial grounds and other meaningful locations. We can also help with logistics and permissions.
- Can we view our loved one in the chapel of rest?
Yes. Many families find comfort in visiting. We prepare your loved one with care and dignity, and visits can be arranged at either our Tunstall or Biddulph branches.
- What happens if the coroner is involved?
If the death is sudden, unexplained, or accidental, the coroner may investigate. This can delay registration and the funeral, but we will keep you informed and liaise with you and the coroner’s office.
- How soon can a funeral take place?
Most funerals take place within 2– 4 weeks, depending on registration, coroner involvement, venue availability, and family preferences. We work with you to find the earliest suitable date.
- Do you provide floral tributes and catering?
Yes. We offer bespoke floral arrangements, funeral catering with flexible menus, and full coordination with venues.
- Can I make donations in memory of someone?
Yes. We can organise charitable donations, collect contributions, and liaise with chosen charities. Donations can be made by visiting our branches and paying by cash or cheque or can be sent directly to the relevant charity.Â

Burial involves interment in a cemetery or churchyard. Cremation involves the cremation of the body, with ashes returned to the family for scattering, burial, or keeping. We will guide you through all legal requirements.
- Can we personalise the funeral?
Yes. Families often choose favourite music, readings, memory tables, personal items, themed tributes, unique floral arrangements, or special routes. We help create a meaningful farewell that reflects your loved one’s life.
- What types of funerals do you offer?
We provide traditional funerals, modern and personalised ceremonies, cremation and burial services, direct cremation, memorial services, religious and non‑religious ceremonies, woodland and eco‑friendly options, floral tributes, and catering.
- What documents do I need to register a death?
You will need the Medical Certificate of Cause of Death, the deceased’s personal details, NHS number (if available), and any supporting documents. The registrar will issue the Green Form and death certificates.
- Who is legally allowed to arrange a funeral?
The closest next of kin usually has the legal right — spouse, civil partner, adult child, or parent. If there is a Will, the executor has authority. When families disagree, we help mediate sensitively and follow UK legal hierarchy.
