Memorial Options

While new full earth graves are no longer available at Trentham Cemetery, they do offer the option to re-open existing graves for families wishing to reunite with their loved ones in this tranquil setting.

Maintenance Guidelines

They take great pride in maintaining the cemetery’s grounds and ensuring the resting places of your loved ones are treated with the utmost respect. Here’s what you can expect regarding our maintenance practices:

• After a burial in a lawn grave, the grave will be topped up as necessary while the ground settles. This settling process can take up to six months, depending on weather conditions and the time of year. They usually turf graves between October and March, as this period provides the best conditions for new grass. In the summer months, they prefer to wait until September or October for turfing to ensure the best outcomes.

• To maintain the aesthetics and safety of the cemetery, they kindly request that all memorial items be placed on the memorial foundation, not on the grass. Please avoid using breakable items, such as glass or earthenware, and ensure that all items left are safe and appropriate.

• If they identify any unsuitable items, they will contact you to request their removal within two weeks. Items that pose an immediate danger to staff or visitors may be removed without prior notice.
